He's So Big

Everywhere we go with Colton in tow we hear, "He's so big!" and "He looks just like Molly/Joe/Victoria." Every once in a while some sweet soul says Colton looks like me.  Some people are so polite.  I take consolation in the fact that he loves me best and always will.  (That's how it goes right?)

I didn't post a monthly picture for September. So here is Colton at two months old compared to him now at three months old.  He really is pretty big and super cute.

 September (2 months old)

October (3 months old)

Colton has started smiling a very flirtatious smile when you talk to him.  He also answers your questions with some very impressive cooing.  The first week in October, I got him to giggle by kissing his neck.  He repeated the trick several times in a row only to refuse to do it again.  I am still waiting. I do feel bad for him because trying to get him to laugh is pretty much just baby torture.  I guess he doesn't find repeated neck kisses very funny.

The Tooth Fairy

A few weeks ago, Molly lost another tooth.  She seems to be losing them at a higher rate than she grows them back. Anyway, as tradition has it in our house, the tooth goes under the pillow and the tooth fairy comes to collect the tooth and leaves a unique coin (like a half dollar, gold dollar, or silver dollar). On this particular day, there were two major problems.

First, Molly misplaced the lost the tooth.  She wrote the tooth fairy the following note and left it under her pillow:

"I cross my heart. I either swallowed my tooth or dropped it like I said."

The second problem came the next morning.  Molly woke early and came stomping in the living room and plopped herself on the couch with a loud and dramatic "humph!" I asked her what was wrong.  She held up a slightly worn one dollar bill and with a terribly pitiful look on her face told me that the tooth fairy only brought her a "stinking dollar." She then began to cry- a lot.

Luckily, when she went in to make her bed later in the morning (after gentle urging by me) she found a gold dollar under her pillow.  It's funny how things sometimes just magically work out

Cake for Daddy

Molly and Victoria made Joe a cake for his birthday today- for breakfast!  It was super yummy. I did learn that I should always check to be sure my helpers adequately greased BOTH cake pans. Otherwise, a two-layer cake becomes one.
