Family Time

Molly had a school project to do, an identity box.  She wanted pictures of all four kids.  GASP- I didn't have one.  So, we piled in the neighbor's yard where the grass was gorgeous and also posed in our swing.

Back to School

Victoria's first day of school.... She is in 5th grade at St. John's Catholic School.  We can't wait for her plaid skirt to come in.  I am really wanting her to wear knee-high socks and Mary Janes.  Can't you hear her now, "No way, Mom!"

Molly is in third grade at BPA.  She is so excited to have her very own desk.  Tables are for babies!  Isn't she big?

Christmas Morning

Colton is excited.  He just isn't sure why.

Victoria got the tent she asked Santa for.... she was sure to specify that she would share it with the whole family.

Molly's make-up case.  (She asked Santa to build her one that had a mirror that automatically extended out of the case.  She also asked for a diary that you could swipe open with a key card.  He sent her a letter explaining that her requests might possibly be a good design to start on for future toys, but that it wasn't possible to get them created just for her this year.)

Colton loved his truck even before it was put together!

Christmas Cheer

Victoria plays at the Panama City Beach Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Molly poses before singing in the Christmas Program at school.

Colton's first Christmas musical at Woodlawn.  Precious!

Molly held the star of Bethlehem.

Victoria was Mary.  She took her part very seriously.  It was perfect.

The Tooth Fairy

A few weeks ago, Molly lost another tooth.  She seems to be losing them at a higher rate than she grows them back. Anyway, as tradition has it in our house, the tooth goes under the pillow and the tooth fairy comes to collect the tooth and leaves a unique coin (like a half dollar, gold dollar, or silver dollar). On this particular day, there were two major problems.

First, Molly misplaced the lost the tooth.  She wrote the tooth fairy the following note and left it under her pillow:

"I cross my heart. I either swallowed my tooth or dropped it like I said."

The second problem came the next morning.  Molly woke early and came stomping in the living room and plopped herself on the couch with a loud and dramatic "humph!" I asked her what was wrong.  She held up a slightly worn one dollar bill and with a terribly pitiful look on her face told me that the tooth fairy only brought her a "stinking dollar." She then began to cry- a lot.

Luckily, when she went in to make her bed later in the morning (after gentle urging by me) she found a gold dollar under her pillow.  It's funny how things sometimes just magically work out

Deep Thoughts

This morning, Molly and Victoria were eating cereal in the kitchen. I was within earshot- feeding Colton in the living room.  As they talked "sister-talk" preparing for the day, this is what Molly proposed to Victoria:

"So, I have this one question... (she goes on with absolutely no gestures) This little piggy went to market, this little piggy stayed home, this little had roast beef, this little piggy had none, and this little piggy went 'wee, wee, wee' all the way home. Where was the little piggy to start with?"

Good question, Molly. Good question.

Back to School

Today was the first day of school. Victoria is now a third grader, and Molly is proud to be a first grader. The girls were so excited to get back to school and see their friends. I was excited for them and thoroughly enjoyed being one of "those" moms who walked her kids to class pushing a stroller and promptly drove home.  Wow!  What a different experience. This was the first time in 15 years that I didn't have a class to prepare for and greet on the first day of school. It is bittersweet. But, I am ready to enjoy my mommy time with all three of my kids.

Little Brother

There is no time for a post... sleep when the baby sleeps, right?  But, I thought I would a take a minute to post a few pictures since I know that's all anyone wants to see anyway! At some point I will recount the joyous day that we welcomed Colton into our family. For now, we are taking it one day at a time. We are so blessed!  Thank you for all of your well wishes; I can't wait for you to meet him in person.
